Nikita Andreyevich Gusev (Russian: Никита Андреевич Гусев; born 8 July 1992) is a Russian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Gusev was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 7th round (202nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Playing career
On 21 June 2017, with the selection of Jason Garrison by the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft, the Knights received from the Lightning the rights to Gusev, along with a 2nd-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, and a 4th-round pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.[1]
On 14 July 2017, Gusev signed a two-year extension with SKA Saint Petersburg.[2] Because there is no transfer agreement between the NHL and KHL, the Vegas Golden Knights retain the exclusive right to negotiate an NHL contract with Gusev indefinitely.[3]
