Nightmares! is a young adult children's literature series co-authored by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller.[1][2][3] As of 5 November 2014, the series has been on The New York Times Best Seller list for children's book series.[4] The series comprises three titles.[5]

Charlie Laird is having nightmares. He gets them when he moves into his stepmom's mansion. And things are going to get worse when he enters the Netherworld

Characters

  • Charlie Laird - The protagonist of the series. He is a young boy who discovers the Netherworld and faces his fears.
  • Jack Laird - The younger brother of Charlie. He is adventurous and fearless. He can imagine fears.
  • Andrew Laird - The father of Charlie and Jack. He is the oddball of the family ad he does not know about the portal in the mansion.
  • Charlotte Laird (née deChant)-Wife of Andrew and step-Mom of Jack and Charlie. Her family guarded the portal for 300 years. She married Andrew Laird after his wife and Charlotte's friend Veronica Laird passed away.
  • Rocco-Charlie's friend. He hates tests and is a very famous boy in seventh grade.
  • Alfie-Charlie's friend. Likes answering questions and is a brainiac.
