Nicolas Raskin (born 23 February 2001) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Gent in the Belgian First Division A.

Club career

Raskin was born in Waregem, and began playing football with Standard Liège at the age of 7.[1]

On 26 May 2017, Raskin signed his first professional contract with Gent for 3 years, joining from Anderlecht's youth academy.[2] Raskin made his professional debut for Gent in a 3-0 Belgian First Division A win over Sint-Truiden, at the age of 16 becoming the first player born in the 21st century to play in the league[3]

International career

Rankin is a youth international for Belgium, and represented the Belgium U17s at the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.[4]

Personal life

Rankin is the son of Thierry Raskin, who was also a professional footballer in Belgium.[5]
