Nicola Mary Shadbolt ONZM is a New Zealand farmer, academic and company director. She is currently a full professor at the Massey University and since 2009 she has been a director of Fonterra.[1]
Academic career
After degrees from the University of Nottingham and Lincoln College (at that time a constituent college of the University of Canterbury) and a diploma from Massey University, Shadbolt worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and then in a variety of farming roles before moving to the University of Massey, rising to full professor.[1][2]
From 1998 to 2000, Shadbolt was on the board of Transit New Zealand.[3][4] She holds multiple roles, including director, within the Fonterra group of companies.[5][6]
In 2017, Shadbolt won the rural section of the Westpac Women of Influence Award,[2][7][8] and in the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours, she was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to agribusiness.[2][9]
