NextGen Motorsports is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The team fields a Toyota Camry in the Xfinity Series for Landon Huffman, Marcos Gomes, and Enrique Baca. The car's number is yet to be determined.[1]

History

This team competed in the NASCAR K&N Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, as well as one race in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. More NCWTS and XFINITY races have been announced for future races in the 2018 season.

Xfinity Series

Car No. TBA history

On January 22, 2018, NextGen Motorsports announced that they will be participating in the XFINITY Series in 8 races with Landon Huffman, Marcos Gomes, and Enrique Baca. They announced to run the Bristol XFINITY Race in April, but did not enter. This deal seems to,have fallen apart as the have not entered a race yet. Also,Landon Huffman has claimed there was never a contract signed.

Car No. 13 history

In 2017, they helped MBM Motorsports to field an entry for NextGen drivers at road-courses races: (Enrique Baca drove at Watkins Glen and Mid-Ohio while Ernie Francis Jr. drove the car at Road America.

Car No. 55 history

In 2017, the No. 55 car made two attempts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The first attempt was at Kansas in mid-October. The team made its Xfinity Series debut with Josh Berry, finishing 33rd. The second attempt was at Homestead with Matt Mills, who joined Quin Houff in the No. 46 and Morgan Shepherd in the No. 89 as the drivers who did not qualify.

Camping World Truck Series

Truck No. TBA history

On the same day that they announced their intents to compete in the XFINITY Series, NextGen Motorsports announced that they will field a truck team in 10-12 races with Landon Huffman. This deal has since fallen apart.

Truck No. 35 History

NextGen Motorsports entered a No. 35 entry that was to be driven by Travis Kvapil for the 2018 Alpha Energy Solutions 250. Their entry added 36 trucks to try and make the 32 truck field. With such a larger number of entries, NextGen Motorsports withdrew their No. 35 entry, as did Norm Benning Racing's No. 57 entry of Jeff Zillweger, and NEMCO Motorsports withdrew their No. 87 entry that was to be driven by Joe Nemechek. NextGen Motorsports has not entered a truck since.

Truck No. 83 history

In 2018, the team made their debut at Kentucky, fielding the No. 83 for Tyler Matthews. The team used Copp Motorsports' owner points to make the race. However Matthews crashed in the first lap and finished last.

K&N Pro Series

The team fielded in 2017 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East 3 part-time cars (No. 5, No. 9 and No. 25). The No. 5, No. 25 and No. 55 returned in 2018.

Car No. 5 history

In 2017, they fielded No. 5 Chevrolet for Enrique Baca and Luis Rodriguez, Jr. In 2018, the team returned with Juan Manuel González and Dale Quarterley behind the wheel.

Car No. 9 history

In 2017, they fielded No. 9 Ford for Baca, Brandon Lynn and Woody Pitkat in a partnership with Troy Williams team.

Car No. 25 history

In 2017, they fielded No. 25 Chevrolet/Toyota for Baca and David Levine. Levine returned once again in 2018 for New Jersey Motorsports Park race.

Car No. 55 history

In 2018, they fielded No. 55 Toyota for Abraham Calderón and Marcos Gomes.
