The New Zealand men's national field hockey team, also known as the Black Sticks Men,[1] upset Australia to win gold at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, becoming the first non-Asian/European team to clinch the gold medal. They have also won silver and bronze at the 2002 and 2010 Commonwealth Games.
