The New Zealand Army Band is a traditional New Zealand brass band which was formed in 1964 to perform at ceremonial occasions. The band has evolved into an entertainment unit which performing in a wide variety of settings.
The band incorporated vocalists into the band in the 1970s to enable the band to expand its repertoire to include jazz, pop, and rock music.
The band is a recurring participant in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and has been performing at the tattoo since 2002.
The New Zealand Army Band also had the honour of performing for Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the queen's 90th birthday 2012 and 2016 respectively.[1]
