New York's 17th State Senate district

The 17th New York State Senate district, based on the 2010 Census, lies in central, southern, and southwestern Brooklyn, and comprises the neighborhoods of

Borough Park,

Midwood, and

Brooklyn Chinatown,

and parts of

Sunset Park,

Kensington,

Bensonhurst, and

Gravesend.

It lies within Community District 14, is patrolled by the 61st, 66th, and 70th precincts of the New York City Police Department, and is served by the New York City Fire Department from a station on East 14th Street housing Engine 276, Ladder 156 and Battalion Chief 33.
