New Horizon (Chinese: 壮志高飞) is a 2018 Chinese television series starring Joe Chen, Zheng Kai and Zhu Zixiao.[1][2]

Synopsis

Xiao Mo, a pilot at Zhong Xia Airlines, inadvertently caused the death of Xia Yu's mother while investigating a Conflagration incident. Despite not having to bear any responsibility for the incident, Xiao Mo quits his job out of guilt becomes a flight engineer. Two years later, he decides to return to his former job. He meets Xia Yu at the summer refresher course, who is now a pilot trainee. The two of them also fall in love at the same time with Wu Di, a fellow trainee who is known for her straightforward personality. While the three becomes caught up in the emotional entanglements, an incomplete investigation report suddenly emerges and the unfortunate incident two years ago was divulged to everybody. Xiao Mo therefore comes under suspicion, and Wu Di's loyalty begins to sway toward Xia Yu. Xiao Mo therefore becomes determined to dig out the truth, to clear his innocence and return to the sky once more.

Production

The series is developed by the same team that created Triumph in the Skies, which includes producer Tommy Leung and scriptwriter Au Koon-ying.[8]

The series began filming in Zhu Hai in August 2017,[9] and wrapped up in Paris in November 2017.[10]
