In 2009 NEW was founded by Alex Wright, former WCW World Cruiserweight Champion, WCW World TV Champion and WCW World Tag Team Champion. NEW is a professional platform for trainees of his training centre "The Wright Stuff", rookies as well as internationally experienced and established wrestlers. The first professional event was "Hoch Explosiv" on October 3, 2009 and it was sold out with around 500 spectators. The monthly events take place in the hall N.E.W. HotSpot. Most of them with recurring topics and names like Hoch Explosiv, EXTREME, Deadline etc. The NEW regularly records their events and broadcasts them on Vimeo on demand, YouTube as well as publishes them on DVD. Since 3 June 2016, the NEW shows are also broadcast on TV Fightbox HD.

The Wright Stuff - Pro Wrestling School

Alex Wright, second generation wrestler, founded the training centre "The Wrigt Stuff" - Pro Wrestling School in 2007. Many of his trainees had their in ring debut in the NEW and now compete on regular basis in other international leagues, like Adrian Severe who already had a WWE-tryout, participated in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament in 2016 as Fabian Aichner, and is currently signed to WWE under their developmental division NXT.[3][4] Others are Hakeem Wakuur, Juvenile X, T-K-O and V.I.P. The training centre "The Wright Stuff" is known for regular training, high-impact seminars at weekends and special training sessions in singles session and group-training. The wrestling school offers 2 wrestling rings.

N.E.W. HotSpot is the name of the NEW training centre in Heßdorf/Germany. Since 2011 this is the only wrestling hall in Germany specially equipped for wrestling, following the ideas of wrestler Alex Wright. Everything is adapted for training and event purpose, like the light design, entrance ramp, video display panel, two wrestling rings and gastronomy. Also a steel cage (13 feet) can be built on top of the ring canvas for the events. Both, training and NEW-shows, take place in the N.E.W. HotSpot.[5]

Showdown

The N.E.W. has its own YouTube-channel and program "Showdown". In May 2016, the 72nd edition was uploaded; "Showdown" was suspended afterwards.

The NEW edited two or three episodes per month, each contained different parts:
Recap: summary and documentary from the last event
Promos: Promos and presentation of storylines
Announcement of matches: the matches pairings and stipulations of the next event
Free matches: sometimes complete free matches included in Showdown

Steel Cage

In January no event is scheduled. For the rest of the year there is an event each month, generally on the first Saturday on the month. Of importance are the specific features in style and match rules.

In February there is a double event, taking place on Friday and Saturday.

In May there is "EXTREME",[6] one of the most popular events on the NEW year, where every match has a special stipulation like TLC, lumberjack, ladder match, dogcollar or street fight.

"Deadline" in July traditionally includes a ladder match. The wrestler who can reach the briefcase, that is hung up above the ring, and touch the floor with it, wins the match. He than has one year to use the briefcase in exchange for a match of his choice.

"Snakepit" in September includes a battle royal with 25 or more fighters. The winner will be the number one contender for the title in the next month.

In October there is "Hoch Explosiv". It is the anniversary event of the NEW including a title match for NEW World Heavyweight Championship as main event.

In December there is "Internet Wars". Fans can vote online for match pairings and stipulations.
