Nestoras Mitidis (Greek: Νέστωρας Μυτίδης; born June 1, 1991) is a Cypriot footballer who plays for AEL Limassol as a striker. His potential was quickly identified by AEK Academies and during the 2009-10 season, he was promoted to the first team. His breakthrough season was in the 2010–11 season, where he scored his first professional goal and also debuted for the Cyprus national football team on November 16, 2010.

Career

Mitidis began playing football at a young age and after the arrival of Andreas Michaelides, he progressed to the first team, that was playing at Cyprus Second Division during the 2009-10 season, and had two appearances, helping the team promote back to First Division.

In the 2010–11 season, Ton Caanen established Mitidis as a regular first team player, and on November 13, 2010, he scored his first senior goal of his career, with a fantastic shot on 85th minute against Ermis Aradippou, which gave the victory to AEK Larnaca.[1]

He scored his first goal for the Europa League in an 8-0 victory for AEK Larnaca against Floriana in Hibernians Ground.[2]

On 12 July 2016 Mitidis signed a two-year contract with option for another one with the Dutch club, Roda JC Kerkrade.[3]

On April 2017, Mitidis will continue his career in Cyprus after his six months loan. According to latest news, both the Cypriot club and the international striker have already discussed the renewal of their cooperation, something that is mutually desirable and there is no problem in the financial or any other matter. The Cypriot striker had offers from other clubs as well, but he wanted to continue his career with AEK Larnaca. Roda JC Kerkrade does not seem to be a major obstacle, and if something unexpected does not happen, Mitidis will sign a new contract with AEK in the forthcoming summer. [4]

On 18 December 2017, Artymatas signed a six months contract with Super League club Kerkyra on loan from AEK Larnaca. [5]

International career

Mitidis outstanding performances caught the eye of Angelos Anastasiadis who called him to the Cyprus national football team when he was only 19 years old.[6] On November 16, 2010, he debuted for Cyprus, playing in a friendly match against Jordan as substitution on 64th minute.[7]
