Neobarbara is a genus of moths belonging to the Tortricidae family.[1] It contains only one species, Neobarbara olivacea, which is found in China (Qinghai).[2]

The wingspan is about 10 mm. The forewings are olive-green with cream white tips of the scales. The hindwings are light greyish brown.

The larvae feed on Picea asperata, Picea purpurea and Picea wilsonii. The larvae have a cream-yellow body and dark brown head.

Etymology

The genus name is derived from Greek neos (meaning new) and the genus name Barbara and refers to the close relationship of both genera.[3]
