Nemanja Todorović Štiplija (Serbian: Немања Тодоровић Штиплија; Vranje, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia; born 15 October 1984) is a Serbian political scientist, heraldic and social activist. He is one of the founders of the Center for Contemporary Politics and web portal of the European Western Balkans, where he is a main editor.

Early life

He was born in Vranje on 15 October 1984, where he finished his elementary schooling and local gymnasium, Bora Stanković. Originally, Štiplija is a family nickname based on a Macedonian town Štip, from where his ancestors originate.

After finishing finance and banking studies, he worked for several years in public relations sector. He graduated in 2015 from the Masaryk University in Brno and spent one semester at the University of Konstanz.[1]

From 2014 to 2015, he spent working in Brussels.[1][2]

Career

He founded Center for Contemporary Politics with a group of enthusiasts on 9 May 2012.[3] Two years later on 9 May 2014, Center for Contemporary Politics started the web portal named European Western Balkans, and Todorović became its main editor. Its primary focus is the coverage of European integration of Western Balkans. Vranje’s OK Radio awarded him with the title of “Best citizen of Vranje“ ("Нај Врањанац") for his social activism.[4]

In May 2015, he became the external adviser to the International and Security Affairs Center - ISAC Fund. The following year, he authored the publication European Parliament and Serbia: Role of European Parliament in European accession process of Serbia (Европски парламент и Србија: улога Европског парламента у процесу приступања Републике Србије Европској унији). The publication was aimed at the MP’s of Serbian Parliament and their better understanding of the European Parliamentary working. Promotion of the book was held on 20 September 2016, in Serbian National Assembly building and the speakers were David McAlister and Maja Gojković.[5]

Todorović was a columnist of "Vranjske" weekly newspaper and wrote about the local political and social life of Vranje.[6] Currently, he is the periodical columnist of the Serbian daily newspaper, Danas. He is also a member of the Working group for Chapter 30 and 31 of National Convent of European Union.[7]

Torodović is also a heraldic.[8][9] Together with Nikola Salatić and Dalibor Stanojković, Todorović is an author of Vranje’s coat of arms and flag.[10][11][12][13]
