Nemanja Miletić (Serbian Cyrillic: Немања Милетић; born 16 January 1991) is a Serbian footballer who plays as a defender for Partizan. His trademark is a very high jump.[5] Also, he has great explosive power and can put the ball at the opponent side.[6]

Club career

Sloga Kraljevo

As a youngster, Miletić moved from Bane to Sloga Kraljevo. He started playing for their first team in the 2009–10 Serbian First League season.[3] Miletić played friendlies during the winter break against Mladost Oplanići[7] and Jedinstvo Užice,[8] and made his league debut away at Proleter Novi Sad. He also played in a home win against Bežanija at Kraljevo City Stadium.[9]

In the 2010–11 season, his first full as a senior, Miletić made 22 league appearances and scored two goals, mostly in the spring, being a backup for such players as Jovica Vasilić, Aleksandar Gojković, Momir Desnica, captain Rašo Babić and Radoslav Vlašić. Miletić also played in a Serbian Cup match against Red Star Belgrade.[10][11]

During the 2011–12 Serbian First League Miletić achieved his full affirmation. He appeared in 31 league matches, mainly as a centre-back, forming a defensive partnership with the experienced Boban Dmitrović. He was occasionally used as a right-back, wearing the number 4 jersey.

In the 2012–13 season Miletić took over the number 20 shirt, previously worn by Dmitrović. He started the season as a regular alongside Zoran Marušić in the central defense. Following Marušić's injury, Miletić was paired with Stefan Drašković. He played in 29 league matches and was one of the most important players in the team.[12] He also played in a Serbian Cup game against OFK Beograd at Omladinski stadion, as Sloga lost 5–0.[13][14]

Miletić continued partnering Drašković in the 2013–14 season, but during the winter break Drašković left to join Borac Čačak. In the second half of the season Miletić was paired Danijel Gašić and later with Miloš Nikolić, following Gašić's departure. He was the team's most capped player with 29 league appearances. He missed just one match, a 3–0 away loss to Metalac Gornji Milanovac due to yellow card suspension.[15][16] He also played in a cup match against Vojvodina and scored a goal in the penalty shootout,[17][18] in which Vojvodina's goalkeeper Srđan Žakula saved three penalties.[19][20] Despite some speculation about his transfer to Belgium, he remained at the club the whole season.[21] He also served as captain in absence of Aleksandar Božović and Marko Gobeljić.

In the summer 2014, he was on trial at Vojvodina,[22][23] and played some friendly matches, against Ceahlăul twice,[24][25] Lokeren,[26] and Borussia Fulda.[27]

Borac Čačak

After failing to sign with Vojvodina, Miletić joined Borac Čačak on 29 July 2014, joining his former teammates Aleksandar Gojković, Stefan Drašković and Dejan Radosavljević.[28] He played against Sloboda Užice in a friendly match the same day.[29] He also played at the Živorad Bija Stanković memorial tournament, against Metalac Gornji Milanovac.[30] He made his Serbian SuperLiga debut in a 2–0 home win over Donji Srem on 9 August 2014.[31][32] Miletić collected 17 league appearances and one cup appearance[33] until the end of season.

After Nenad Lalatović took over the managerial position at Borac Čačak, Miletić started the season partnering Miljan Jablan. After three wins in SuperLiga, Miletić was named in the team of the third round by Sportski žurnal, after the match against Čukarički.[34] He scored his first goal for Borac in the ninth round, against Novi Pazar.[35] Miletić collected 20 league appearances and one cup appearance, and will be remembered as a member of the generation which caused one of the worst defeats of Red Star Belgrade at their ground.[36] In November 2015, together with Stefan Živković and Dušan Jovančić, Miletić sued the club over unpaid wages.[37] Miletić and Jovančić forgave a portion of the debt and moved to Vojvodina.[38]

Vojvodina

On 25 January 2016, Miletić signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Vojvodina.[39] He scored two goals in the first friendly match played in Belek, against Oleksandriya.[40] During the spring half of the 2015–16 season, coach Nenad Lalatović used him mostly as a right-back. He scored a goal in the 34th fixture against Čukarički.[41] Miletić was selected in the team of the season by Sportski žurnal.[42] Miletić also started 2016–17 as a right-back. He assisted to Nikola Trujić for one of his goals against Bokelj in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League first qualifying round.[43] After Vojvodina failed to qualify for Europa League, Miletić left the club, making a total of 25 apperarances.[44] He also renounced the arrears to him for the benefit of youth school.[45]

Westerlo

Miletić signed a two-year contract with Westerlo on 27 August 2016.[46] He collected 20 caps during the 2016–17 season, playing 12 matches as a central defender and eight as a right-back.[47] After the club got relegated to the Belgian First Division B, Miletić was sold to Partizan.[48]

Partizan

In the summer of 2017, Miletić returned to Serbia, signing a three-year contract with SuperLiga side Partizan for a transfer fee of €350,000.[49] He chose the number 73 jersey at his new club.[4] Miletić made his debut for Partizan on 22 July 2017, playing as a right-back in a 6–1 victory over Mačva Šabac in the first fixture of the 2017–18 Serbian SuperLiga.[50] In the next fixture he started as a centre-back and provided an assist to Seydouba Soumah for a second goal of the match.[51] Miletić played his first eternal derby on 27 August 2017.[52] Miletić provided his second assist in a 3–1 win against Radnički Niš.[6] Miletić scored his first goal for Partizan in a Serbian Cup match against Javor Ivanjica on 14 March 2018.[53] In May 2018, Miletić was named in the league's team of the season by clubs captains' and managers' choice.[54] Miletić won his first trophy with Partizan after a 2–1 victory over Mladost Lučani in the 2017–18 Serbian Cup final on 23 May 2018.[55] At the beginning of the 2018–19 season, Miletić had been used as a back-up under coach Miroslav Đukić. He noted his first macth in the season replacing Marc Valiente in 3–0 away victory over Rudar Pljevlja on 12 July 2018.[56] One week later, he started the second game against the same rival at Belgrade.[57] Miletić scored his first continental goal for Partizan in second leg of the second qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League, in 1–1 away draw to Trakai on 2 August 2018.[58] Miletić also scored in 3–2 home win against Nordsjælland on 16 August 2018, of the next qualifying round, in which he was nominated for a player of the match.[59] Miletić was sent off in 73 minute of the match against Bačka Bačka Palanka, played on 2 September 2018, after kicking Milan Makarić tendencially.[60]
