Neemat Georges Frem (Arabic: نعمة ج. افرام) is a Lebanese businessman, and a member of the parliament of Lebanon.[1] He is former president of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists, chief executive of the multinational company INDEVCO Group,[2] and founder and president of Phoenix Machinery.[3][4] He is also the current President of The Maronite Foundation in the World.[5] Frem was elected member of parliament in Jbeil and Keserwan constituency during the Lebanese general election held in Lebanon on 6 May 2018.

Early life and education

Frem was born on 10 September 1967 in Jounieh, Keserwan of Lebanon. Frem completed school at Collège Saint Joseph – Antoura. He graduated from American University of Beirut with a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering in 1991.[6][2] He completed postgraduate diploma on leadership and business from Harvard University Business School, Georgetown University Business School and Stanford University Business School.[7]

Currently, Frem serves as a deputy in the Lebanese Parliament representing Keserwan and Jbeil electoral district. He also serves as the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of INDEVCO Group that manages 60 operations including 37 manufacturing plants and 23 commercial companies around the world.[8] The group also runs 20 subsidiaries in other countries.[9] He served as the CEO of Interstate Resources, Inc.[10] He was elected as the President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) in 2010 and served till 2014.[11][12] He holds one US and one Europe patent.[13][14] In 2013, he launched "A Better Lebanon" initiative, generating public policies by empowering national public, private and civil society institutions as an attempt for a restructuring change in the Lebanese continuous political crisis.[6]

Political career

In 2018, Frem announced his candidacy for the Lebanese General Election, running for the Maronite seat in the Keserwan and Jbeil constituency. Following the general election held on 6 May 2018, he was officially announced as a winning candidate.
