Karakoram Motors (Urdu: قراقرم موٹر) is a Pakistani automobile manufacturer based in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Karakoram Motors is the authorized assembler and manufacturer of Dynasty IT electric cars,[1] Raftar motorcycles as well as Chery, Changan and Gonow vehicles.[2]
History
Karakoram Motors was originally known as Kandawala Industries, which began producing CJ 5, CJ 6 and CJ 7 Jeeps in 1962 and is one of the oldest automobile assembly plants in the country.[3] In 1972, the company was renamed to Naya Daur Motors after nationalization. In 2003, the company renamed itself again to Karakoram Motors.[4]
