National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports
National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (abbreviated to NIMAS) is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Defence (India), which provides specialized training in mountain rescue , mountaineering and adventure sports, founded in 2012, by Government of Arunachal Pradesh.[2][3][4] The institute is located at Dirang in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.[5]
History
In October, 2011, The National Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports (NIMAS) was set up by the State Government of Arunachal Pradesh at Dirang in Arunachal Pradesh as an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Defence (India).[2]

NIMAS offers mountaineering, skiing, adventure sports and water sports courses.[6]
