Natalie Marie Ames (born 1 March 1989) is an English actress.[1]

Early life

Ames was born and raised in London, England. While painfully shy as a child, and once "too shy to audition for the lead roles in the school production of Bugsy Malone", she took drama, dance and art classes from a very young age.[2]

Career

Deciding she wanted to be an actress, Ames auditioned and was accepted into the Drama Studio London, graduating with a Postgraduate Diploma in Acting.[3][4] She began her career performing in London's Off West End theatre including the British play Eight at the Kings Head Theatre, Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Ernest, The House of Bernarda Alba at The Barons Court Theatre, The Two Gentlemen of Verona at Grange Park Theatre, and A Golden Age at The Royal Festival Hall.[5]

Ames also appeared in British films Meeting Place and The Seasoning House.[6]

In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles, having once fallen in love with the city during a family trip.[7] She appeared in the Lionsgate film Criminal opposite Gary Oldman and Kevin Costner[8][9][10] and the indie comedy film Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant opposite Mark Feueurstein.[11] She also appeared in Vice Versa, produced by Isaiah Washington,[12] and Le Fear II: Le Sequel by writer and director Jason Croot.

In addition to acting, Ames enjoys writing and wrote Strangers on the Ledge, Before We Began, and Jack and Eva[13][14] after being inspired by meetings with prolific directors at Sundance Film Festival.[15]

She is a member of the organization Women in Film.[16]
