Abu Najib Mohammed Tareque, aka Najib Tareque, (born September 5, 1970) is a Bangladeshi artist, printmaker[1] and writer.[2] He is one of the first pioneers of online galleries in the field of art production in Bangladesh;[2][3][4] alongside in the twenty-first century artists, he is the New Media pioneered of the practice of various virtual art forms.[5]

Early life

Abu Najib Mohammad Tareq was born on September 5, 1970, in Dinajpur, Bangladesh. His father Tamizuddin and mother Nujratun Nisa. He is the fifth among seven siblings. Under the influence of his father's career, his childhood and early lifespan of Thakurgaon, Rajshahi and in Dinajpur district.[6] His early education began in the village's school. After completing SSC from Rajshahi Collegiate School in 1986, he studied Dinajpur Government College. In 1987, he started studying Printmaking in Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Dhaka.[2]

Personal life

Najib married Bangladeshi painter Farhana Afroz. They have a daughter Taiara Farhana Tareque (born 1994), she is also a growing portrait artist from Bangladesh, and a son Farhand Abu Tamjiad.

In April 2007, a joint exhibition of this couple was organized in Dhaka at their own art gallery named Studio 6/6 under the heading "Nirman" ("Construction").[7]

Artworks

In 1994, two of his solo exhibitions were organized.[3] As a part of this ongoing project, Tareque composed his old and new combination of decoration.[4]

In 2009, he participated in the group exhibition held in Mumbai, India.[6]

Art Makes Us Human

Online-based virtual art project Art Makes Us Human starts in July 2015 through the social media Instagram.[1]
