He covered the 2002, 2008 and 2013 General elections and the Parliamentary sessions for elections of the Prime Minister and Speakers. He has been an analyst and commentator for many current affairs programs for various international TV and Radio channels, before joining CNBC Pakistan in 2005.

He was one of the few senior journalists who conducted programme for PTV News and Current Affairs Channel and Radio Pakistan before the advent of private news channels in the country. He hosted News Morning and News Night for PTV, which were leading talkshows of that time.

He interviewed many international leaders, including American Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumaratunga, Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Afghan President Hamid Karzai etc. and had interviewed almost all Pakistani Presidents and Prime Ministers since 1990.

He is set to start his program on Hum News after quiting Samaa TV after 5 years. He joined Hum News as Senior Vice President in September 2018. Hum News is one of the leading entertainment channels in Pakistan and launched a News Channel hoping to cash in on the brand name. Hum News would hope bringing a big name on the channel would bring more eye balls. With unprecedented pressure on Geo News, it does look like that the field has opened up for other channels
