Nabalus crepidineus (formerly Prenanthes crepidinea), commonly called the nodding rattlesnakeroot,[1] is a species of plant in the Asteraceae family occurring in the northern central United States.

It is a perennial which grows in mesic environments and blooms in late summer and autumn,[2] specifically from August to October in Missouri[3] . In 2010 it was reclassified from the genus Prenanthes to Nabalus[4]

Range

This plant occurs in the northeastern US west to Minnesota and Arkansas[3] In Arkansas, this species occurs in 12 counties, mostly in the Arkansas Ozarks.[5]
