Myxococcaceae is a family of gram-negative, rod-shaped bacteria.[2] It belongs to the suborder Crystobacterineae in order Myxococales and comprise three genera validly described as Myxococcus, Corallococcus, and Pyxidicoccus.[3] The Myxococcaceae family covers the best explored and studied myxobacteria with a wide scope of research.
