Mutiny! is the debut studio album by rock band Set Your Goals.

Background

On January 3, 2006, it was announced that the band had signed to Eulogy Recordings.[2] The label announced that they would re-issue the band's self-titled EP and release their debut album later in the year.[2] Vocalist Jordan Brown stated: "If you had asked me a couple years back about Eulogy and SYG working together, I would have completely shrugged off the idea. Then again, [...] [we] had no intentions of Set Your Goals ever being anything more than a five song demo. Flash forward to 2006, and we've never been so proud to be a part of anything in our entire lives."[2]

The album was produced by Barett Jones who has also worked with Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Bush, I Am The Avalanche and The Fall of Troy.

Release

From March to May 2006, the band went on tour with Crime in Stereo.[3] In May and June, the band supported Ignite on their tour of the U.S.[4] On June 8, a music video was released for "Mutiny!"[5] Mutiny! was released on 11 July through Eulogy.[5] In September and October, the band went on a headlining tour of U.S. with support from No Trigger and The Distance.[6] In November, the band went on a Midwest and west coast tour with Terror.[7] In January and February 2007, the band performed a few shows with Senses Fail and Saosin.[8] In February and March, the band went on a tour of North America with support from Every Second Counts, Save Yourself and Fireworks.[9] However, in early March the band were involved in a van accident which resulted in them dropping off the remainder of their March headlining dates. The band recovered in time to support Anti-Flag on their War Sucks... tour in March and April.[10] In mid-May, the band toured alongside Drop Dead, Gorgeous on their US west coast tour.[11]

In May and June 2007, the band went on a headlining tour of the U.S. with support from Just Surrender, Driving East and Fireworks.[12] From late June to late July, the band went on the 2007 edition of Warped Tour.[13] In October and November, the band supported New Found Glory and Senses Fail on their co-headlining tour of the U.S.[14] In February and March 2008, the band went on a tour of the UK alongside Gallows, Fucked Up and Short Sharp Shock.[15] On March 26, a music video was released for "Echoes" on the band's Myspace account.[16] Between late March and early May, the group toured as part of the Bamboozle Roadshow.[17] In April, the band appeared at the Bamboozle Left festival.[18] A deluxe edition of the album with five demos and a video was released on May 27.[19] Guitarist Audelio Flores, Jr. said this was done "because the original pressing sold out", and that since the group did not "have any new material", they opted to "just g[i]ve them our old demos ... to remarket the record".[20] Between June and August, the band performed on the 2008 edition of Warped Tour.[21] In November, the band supported New Found Glory on their tour of the UK.[22] In December, the band went on a brief holiday tour, titled Setting the Records Straight Tour alongside Four Year Strong, Every Avenue and Energy.[23]
