Muskan Kirar (aged 17) is an archer from India who won the gold medal in the women's compound final event at the Archery Asia Cup, stage-1 competition in Bangkok on March 7th, 2018.[1][2] She beat the Malaysian archer Sazatul Nadhirah Zakaria by 139-136.[3][4] Muskan was trained by Richpal Singh Salaria[5] at the Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy in Bhopal.[6][5]

Family

Muskan grew up in Khatik Mohalla, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. She is the daughter of Mala Kirar, a homemaker and Virendra Kirar, who runs a meat shop.[7]

Career

Journey of the Asia Cup

Muskan beat her opponent from Taipei, earning 142 points in the first match of the championship. She went on to beat her opponent from Kazakhstan with 145 points in the pre-quarter final match. She went on to beat her opponent from Indonesia with 147 points in the quarter-finals, and defeated her opponent from Malaysia with 148 points in the semi-finals.[8]
