Mushkin (/ˈmʊʃkɪn/) is a company best known for producing computer memory modules (RAM), Located in Pflugerville, Texas. Its customers include gamers and industry professionals. It claims to have supplied Apple Inc. and NASA.[1]

Mushkin products include computer Power Supply Units (PSU), and RAM modules for desktops, servers, and notebooks. They also produce a line of USB flash drives and solid-state drives SSD. Their memory products are available in several performance categories, from standard to extreme. One of their notable RAM products is the “REDLINE” series, intended for overclockers.

History

In 1994, William Michael Mushkin founded Mushkin, Inc. in Pflugerville, Texas. The company started its business supplying memory modules to Macintosh users.

On May 11, 2000, Ramtron International Corporation (NASDAQ: RMTR) and its subsidiary, Enhanced Memory Systems, announced an agreement to acquire Mushkin through a merge.[2] On June 15, 2000, Ramtron and Enhanced Memory Systems announced the completion of the merge. Mushkin had become a wholly owned subsidiary of Ramtron.[3] But in July 2005, George Stathakis, the general manager, purchased Mushkin from Ramtron and became Mushkin's new owner and president.[4]

On 8 December 2008, Mushkin moved its headquarters to Inverness, a suburban tech center in Englewood, Colorado. The company wanted more space and a building more suitable for light manufacturing, assembly, R&D, and component testing. The new building had 50% more production space, 30% more room for testing and R&D, and 40% more office space. The new address is 317 Inverness Way South, Ste 130, Englewood Co. 80112. Mushkin's phone numbers and other contact information remained the same.[5]

They have since moved to Pflugerville, Texas.[6] just outside Austin.
