Murphy Walker (born 25 October 1999 in Dundee, Scotland) is a Scottish rugby union player who is a Stage 3 Scottish Rugby Academy player assigned to Glasgow Warriors. His usual position is at the Tighthead Prop position but can also play at Loosehead Prop.[1]
Rugby Union career
Amateur career
Walker played rugby union for Strathallan School in Perthshire.[2] He was in the team that won the Scottish Schools Cup of 2017-2018 season, beating Glenalmond College in the final.[3] Walker captained his side.[4]
He played club rugby with Dundee HSFP.[5]
He was enrolled in the Scottish Rugby Academy in the 2017-18 season as a Stage 2 supported player.[6]
Walker now plays for Stirling County in the Scottish Premiership.[7]
Professional career
Walker graduated to be a Stage 3 player in the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy for the 2018-19 season. Stage 3 players are given a professional contract by the Academy. He was placed in the Caledonia academy and assigned to Glasgow Warriors for the season.[8]
International career
Walker came through the age grades at international level. He has played for Scotland U18 and Scotland U19.[3]
He played for Scotland U20 in the 2018 Six Nations Under 20s Championship and followed this up by representing the U20s at the 2018 World Rugby Under 20 Championship in France in the summer.[3][9][10][11]
Walker is the nephew of former Scotland rugby union internationalist Sean Lineen.[7]
