Murdo Maclean

Sir Murdo Maclean (born 21 October 1943) is a Scottish former civil servant and business executive. After working in various government offices, including the Prime Minister's Office (1967–72) and the Department of Industry (1972–78), Maclean served as Principal Private Secretary to the Government Chief Whip from 1978 until 2000. After leaving that post, he was knighted in the 2000 Birthday Honours, and has subsequently held a range of directorships in the private sector.[1]
