Background

In 2009 It was ran as Mumbai–Karwar tri-weekly Super Fast express, after Within a year on 14 August 2010 the Union minister of state for railways K H Muniyappa flagged off Mumbai CST - Karwar Tri-weekly Super Fast Express Train, the service of which has now been extended to the city, from Mangalore Junction. and its frequency also increased from tri weekly to daily.[5]
