Career

He was born in Bannu <https://www.dawn.com/news/1302723><http://nationalcourier.pk/sports/phf-delighted-see-revival-hockey-bannu/>, Pakistan. He won a silver medal in the 1964 Summer Olympics.[1][2][3]

Tall and young Rashid had filled the place vacated by the famous player Habib Kiddi. It was a surprise selection in the national side against the Kenyan team in the 1962 home series. Muhammad Abdul Rashid later fully justified the confidence expressed in him, by playing extremely well as a left-half, though his original position was right-half. He represented Pakistan in Lyons, France. Also played against the Japanese in home series. He also had played for Rawalpindi in the National Championship as well as for the Pakistan Army.
