The Mount Druitt Town Rangers, or the Mt Druitt Rangers, are a football (soccer) club from Mt Druitt in Western Sydney Australia. The club was incorporated in 1970. The team currently plays in the FFA FNSW National Premier League's program, the highest league in the state.

History

The Mt Druitt Town Rangers Soccer Club was incorporated in 1970 and has developed a strong association with the district and the states governing body, Football NSW Football Federation Australia.

Since 1970, the Rangers has provided football opportunities for the youth of Western Sydney. Founded by two Scots of opposing religions and the fiercest of football rivalries, they overcame their differences to unite the green of Celtic, the Rangers name, and the gold of Australia.

The Rangers play in the FFA FNSW National Premier League (NPL2) 1st Grade, 20s, 18s, National Premier League Youth u16s, 15s, 14s, 13s, Skills Acquisition League u12s, 11s, 10s, 9s, Girls Conference League 17g, 15g, 13g. MDTRFC plays Futsal in the FNSW National Premier League competition [Men, Boys, Women, Girls] including Athletes With Disabilities, Town rangers also offers community football opportunities in the local Blacktown District Soccer Football Association.

The Rangers also regularly feature in the highly respected invitational Portuguese International Tournament hosted by Vila Franca do Rosario 2014 u15s, 2016 u15s, 2017, u15s, 2018 u14s testing our Rangers Youth Academies. Over the years vFR has included some of the Superpowers of European Footballs Youth Academies such as regulars Sporting Club Portugal, SL Benfica, Porto FC, as well as other international guests Sheffield Wednesday, Real Betis,

In 2017, the Skills Acquisition League also toured Portugal and played in the Algrave New World Youth Cup where the Rangers team was awarded the Fair Play Award. That same year, the Rangers made the National Premier League first grade grand final against the league winners and highly respected Marconi.

In 2017, Rangers Youth won the u15s Football New South Wales National Premier League One against all 26 National Premier League Youth clubs, and ranked fourth in the unofficial Club Championship of 13s~16s. Technical Director Ben Gough and Stewart Montgomery along with Head Coach Ferdinand Maniti and Chris Zaccazan steered the Under 15 Boys to Victory in their final game against Rockdale FC. With Club Committee Scott Payer, Kevin Allen, Mark Robbo Robertson and all the volunteers have made this possible for a great Football Club.

2015 saw MDTR First play Western Sydney Wanderers FC A-League team in their first trial having won the ACL, with the gates closed with some 2,200 in attendance.

The Rangers have also hosted many Y-League and W-League matches at Popondetta Pk for the Western Sydney Wanderers and the in 2017 hosted the Brasil National Women's team (featuring the superstar Marta) as they prepared for their games against the Matildas.

Since 2011, significant upgrades to the core development from 1986 have taken place, including 1000 additional seats (400 covered), an awning covering entire grandstand, about 350 bucket seats installed in the grandstand, a first aid room, overhaul of the canteen and bathroom facilities, installation of air conditioning in the clubhouse, and a media box.

In 2016, Blacktown City Council announced a major upgrade to the Popondetta Pk precinct of $5m. including the development of a synthetic field and additional amenities for players and spectators.

 NPL2: 1st Grade Premiers, 20s and 18s. All NPL2 finalists. Club Championship: Winners (promotion)
 NPLY: 16s, 15s, 14s, 13s. All finalists. (unofficial CC 3 of 26 team competition).
 GCL:  17g, 15g, 14g Grand Finalists. All finalists.

2016:

 NPL2: 1st Grade 3rd Grand Finalists, 20s, 18s. Club Championship:

Club colours and kit

The club's home kit is based on the Australian national jersey/shirt is predominately gold and shorts bottle green, the socks are gold. The away kit is shirt bottle green, shorts black, and socks black.
