Mount Lanyon (71°15′S 67°10′E / 71.250°S 67.167°E / -71.250; 67.167Coordinates: 71°15′S 67°10′E / 71.250°S 67.167°E / -71.250; 67.167) is a large mountain about 11 nautical miles (20 km) south of Taylor Platform in the Prince Charles Mountains of Antarctica. The mountain is divided in the south by a small, plateau-fed glacier and an area of moraine extends eastward from the mountain for 8 nautical miles (15 km). It was plotted from Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions air photos of 1956 and 1960, and was named by the Antarctic Names Committee of Australia for J.H. Lanyon, officer in charge at Wilkes Station in 1965.[1]
