Mota'ain

Mota'ain, also spelled Mota'in or Mota Ain, is a village in Bobonaro District in East Timor, and Silawan, Tasifeto Timur in Indonesia. It is the country's main road between East Timor and West Timor. The East Timor-Indonesia border runs along the River Mota.

Mota'ain is 118 km west of the East Timor capital Dili and 3 km west of the town of Batugade. It is also 12 km east on Atapupu, a fishing town in Indonesia, 36 km north of Atambua (on main route), and 313 km northeast of Kupang.

The first town across the border in Indonesia is Atapupu, 24 km from Atambua, the seat of the Belu Regency of the Nusa Tenggara Timur Province in West Timor. The Indonesian customs, immigration and quarantine post at Mota'ain is called the Motaain checkpoint.
