Bulitavu in 2016

Mosese Drecala Bulitavu is a Fijian politician and Former Member of Parliament. He is a member of the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

In October 2011 Bulitavu was charged with sedition for graffiting billboards with anti-government slogans.[1][2] A judgement in the case is expected in January 2016.[3]

Bulitavu ran in the 2014 elections as a SODELPA candidate, winning 6,276 votes, making him the 4th highest-polling SODELPA candidate.[4]

On March 26th, Bulitavu was convicted along with Fiji United Freedom Party leader Jagath Karunaratne of sedition, spraying painted words at different places between Nausori and Suva with the seditious intention of bringing hatred against the Government in 2011, due to which the conviction excludes Bulitavu from contesting the 2018 General Election race and the vacation of his parliamentary seat accordingly.[5][6]

On April 2018. Bulitavu along with Jagath Karunaratne were sentenced to more than two years in jailed by the Suva Magistrates Court. The duo were convicted of sedition[7].
