Morris Meredith Williams

Morris Meredith Williams (1881–1973) was a British painter and illustrator.

Born in Cowbridge, Wales, Williams studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London.[1] He married the sculptor Alice Meredith Williams in 1906, and lived in Edinburgh until 1929, when he moved to Devon.[2]

Williams worked in landscape and genre painting, stained glass, engraving and illustration. He exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and at the Royal Scottish Academy. Several works by him are held by museums and galleries in Liverpool. He drew the naval and military figures for the frieze, modelled by his wife, of the Scottish National War Memorial at Edinburgh Castle.[1][2]
