Moro de guandules
Moro de guandules (Moorish pigeon peas) is a dish from the cuisine of the Dominican Republic. The word moro relating to rice and beans originated in Cuba.
The dish is similar to Jamaican rice and peas; the rice is cooked with onions, bell peppers, garlic, tomato paste, celery, thyme, orégano, coconut milk and green pigeon peas. This is a traditional food for Christmas (List of Christmas dishes).
