The gatehouse to Moorlands College

Moorlands College is an Evangelical Christian training college with a campus based in Sopley(near Christchurch) Dorset, and all degree courses are validated by the University of Gloucestershire. The college is non-denominational and acclaims a "Statement of Faith" which is shared by several Evangelical Christian organisations.[1]

History

Founder David Clifford was inspired to found a bible training school in 1947, and in 1948 he opened Matlock Bible College in Matlock, Derbyshire with eight students. John Welch was the first principal of Matlock, with Clifford as Vice Principal. In March 1955, the college moved from Matlock to Dawlish, and was renamed Moorlands Bible College. In 1968, the college moved to Verwood in Dorset, and then two years later, in 1970, it moved to its current location in Christchurch. Rev Dr Steve Brady is the current principal of Moorlands College.
