Ayatollah Sayyid Mohammad-Ali Mousavi Jazayeri (Persian: سیدمحمدعلی موسوی جزایری) (born 1941) is an Iranian Twelver Shi'a cleric.[1] He was born in Shushtar (Khuzestan province).[2] He descends from Seyyed Nematollah Jazayeri as a prominent Shia scholar.[3] Muhammad Ali Mousavi Jazayeri has studied in seminaries of Qum, Iran under Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and Mohammad Ali Araki; and also in seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Grand Ayatollah Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei.[4][5][6]

Meanwhile, Ayatollah Mousavi Jazayeri is considered as (the permanent) Imam al-Jom'ah of Ahwaz beside other (temporary) Imams of Jom'ah of Ahwaz, including:

  • Ayatollah Heidari,
  • Ayatollah Hassan zadeh,
  • Ayatollah Hajati.[7][8]
