Mo Jamil Adeniran, professionally known as Mo Jamil, is a British singer. He rose to fame after winning the sixth series of The Voice UK, where he won a recording contract with Polydor Records.

His Debut Album Evolve charted at Number 36 on the UK Charts.

Early life

Before auditioning for The Voice UK, he was a hotel worker.[1][2] He is from Warrington and is of Yoruba descent.[3][4] He grew up in foster care, until he was taken away from his foster mother at the age of eight, when it was revealed that she had abused him.

Career

2017–present: The Voice UK and breakthrough

Adeniran auditioned for The Voice UK, and joined Jennifer Hudson's team,[5] after receiving a turn from each coach. He won his battle round against Diamond, and later went through to the live shows after succeeding in the live knockouts. He was automatically safe in the first two live shows, and was announced as the winner in the grand final on 2 April 2017.[6]
