Mizo Phyll was born on 18 October 1986 in Shayandima,Venda in Limpopo. Phyll started listening to Hip Hop during the west coast and east coast era. He got his influence from musicians such Nas, Tupac, Colbert Mukwevho, Percy Mukwevho, Bomo Unlimited, Jay-Z, Mase, Bob Marley.

The name Mizo Phyll was inspired by chlorophyll which is a substance found in trees and plants to give them their green colour. His professional career started in 2007 with Madhouse Entertainment Owned by Tshilidzi Ramulondi also from Venda, where he did his hit album Mapungubwe which was recorded in Bloemfontein at FFLR studios, it features the hit song "Vimba" which still receives popular airplay. Also on the album is Tshikandeledzi, which got a Satma nomination for best hip hop in 2009.

In 2012, Mizo Phyll won a TSHIMA Award (presented by SABC) for best Tshivenḓa Hip Hop.[1] and in 2015, Mizo won Best Hip Hop award at FAME Awards.[2]

In 2012 Mizo Phyll Established 'UNISWA' The University Of swag. UNISWA was established to promote and increase Talent of young venda rappers

In 2017 Mizo Phyll released the Mizo Phyll Album.
