Mitchell High School is located in Mitchell, South Dakota in the United States. As of 2017, the school had a population of about 763 students in grades 9–12.[1] The socioeconomic status of the students is generally white and middle income. Some 10 percent of the students belong to minority groups and 20 percent have been categorized as economically disadvantaged.[1] The faculty includes around 50 full-time teachers.[1]

The school athletic teams are the Mitchell Kernels, so named in reference to the famed Mitchell Corn Palace.

School activities include football, volleyball, golf, cross-country, basketball, wrestling, competitive debating, marching band, jazz choir, National Honor Society, tennis, track and field, and cheerleading.
