Missouri State University–West Plains

Missouri State University–West Plains[1] is a separately accredited branch campuses of the Missouri State University System, located in West Plains, Missouri, United States. The official fall 2017 enrollment was 1,930 students.[2] Established in 1963, Missouri State University–West Plains currently has an open enrollment policy to promote student success for all students.[3] Missouri State-West Plains has an extended campus in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Academics

Degree Programs offered include:

  • Associate of Arts- general studies, health professions and teaching
  • Associate of Science- agriculture, business, nursing and pre-engineering
  • Associate of Applied Science- business, child and family development, computer graphics and programming, culinary and hospitality management, enology, entrepreneurship, general agriculture, health information technology, technology, viticulture and wine business and entrepreneurship

Student life

Missouri State University-West Plains offers a wide variety of activities for students, including Student Government Association, study-abroad opportunities and numerous student organizations. Students can work out or play sports in the West Plains Civic Center gym or the Student Recreation Center, and can experience the arts in many of the University/Community Programs featured at the Civic Center.[6]

Athletics

Missouri State-West Plains Grizzly athletics include women's volleyball, men's basketball, and co-ed cheer teams. Home games take place at the West Plain Civic Center Arena.

Housing

The Grizzly House is Missouri State-West Plains' University’s first residential facility, located in the heart of campus on Trish Knight Street. On January 1, 2017, the Shoe Factory Lofts, 665 Missouri Ave., in West Plains, became Grizzly Lofts, and Missouri State-West Plains manage the facility, which can accommodate 274 students. [7]
