Mississippi Arts Commission

The Mississippi Arts Commission is an agency of the U.S. state of Mississippi whose main purpose is to give grants to artistic organizations and promote arts education.[1] It was established by the Mississippi Legislature in 1968.[2] The founding director, who was appointed by Governor John Bell Williams, was Lida Rogers.[2] It has received funding from the United States federal government (USFG) through the National Endowment for the Arts as well as the state legislature and private donors.[2]
