Miss Vincent is an English punk rock band formed in Southampton, Hampshire in 2012[1] by Alex Marshall on lead vocals and bass, Lawrie Pattison on lead guitar and Jack Donnelly on drums. However, the band recruited bassist Owain Mainwaring in 2013, leading to Marshall moving to rhythm guitar duties.[2] In October 2017, Donnelly announced his departure from the group and was replaced in December by new drummer Nate Davenport.[3] The band are currently signed to Uncle M Records,[4] previously having been signed to Engineer Records.[5]

Musical style and influence

Miss Vincent have cited musical influences including Alkaline Trio, Bad Religion, AFI,[1] Ramones,[6] Against Me and Gaslight Anthem;[2] leading to them being described as punk rock,[7][8][9][10] gothic punk[11][12][13] and gloomy punk.[14][15][16]

Band Name

After hearing about the story of Joyce Carol Vincent, vocalist and guitarist, Alex Marshall, was inspired to write a song about her life. The song was first titled Miss Vincent but the band eventually decided to change the song's title to No One Knew and name their band itself to Miss Vincent. This was the band's first single and it was released on 5th October 2012.
