The Milwaukee Hospital is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.[1]
History
The hospital was established by the Lutheran clergyman William Passavant in 1863.[2] Passavant is now recognized as a saint by the Lutheran Church and the Episcopal Church. The hospital's first location was a former farm house. Nicholas Senn was later a member of the staff.
In the early 1900s, Rev. Herman Fritschel, the Director and Rector of the Milwaukee Hospital, began to greatly expand the hospital, culminating in a new building.
