Milorad Pejić (Tuzla, Bosnia, former Yugoslavia, on April 8, 1960) is a Bosnian poet who resides in Sollefteå, Sweden.

Biography

After attending elementary and high school in his hometown of Tuzla, Pejić attended the University of Sarajevo, where he studied economics. Following graduation he returned to Tuzla, and in 1992, following the outbreak of the Bosnian War, he immigrated to Sweden, where he now lives.[1]

Books

Pejić entered the literary scene in 1985 with his book The Vase for the Lily Plant (Vaza za biljku krin).[2]

His second book, The Eyes of Keyholes (Oči ključaonica), was published bilingually, in Bosnian and German, in 2001.[3] The second edition of this book was published in 2012.[4] This book was translated into English by Omer Hadžiselimović and published by "Červená Barva Press"[5] 2015 in USA.

His collection, Hyperborea[6] (2011, 2013),[7] was awarded by the Writers' Association of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the City of Sarajevo, the PEN Center in Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the Mak Dizdar Foundation with the newly established prize "Slovo Makovo - Mak Dizdar" in November 2012 for the best poetic work published the previous year in the Bosnian, Montenegrin, Croatian, and Serbian language.[8] "Hyperborea" has been published in English (translated by Omer Hadžiselimović) by "Samizdat"[9] in Prague 2016.

The last poetry book "The Third Life"[10] was published by Bosnian Media Group (Tuzla) 2015.
