Midhun Manuel Thomas is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in the Malayalam film industry.[1][2] He made his debut as a screenwriter by conceiving the story and co-writing the screenplay for the 2014 film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana. He's best known for Aadu (2015), Ann Maria Kalippilaanu (2016), Alamara (2017) and Aadu 2 (2017).

Personal life

Thomas is from Kumblad near Paralikkunnu, Wayanad, a district in Northern Kerala, India. He undertook a Master of Social Work degree then worked in Dubai for two years. After returning, he tried business and failed, losing the money he had saved in Dubai. He therefore decided to try screenwriting.

Career

While Thomas was in Chennai, searching for opportunities in the film industry, he was able to contact Aju Varghese through a friend. After hearing story of Ohm Shanthi Oshaana from Thomas, Aju introduce him to Renji Panicker and Jude Anthany Joseph.

Thus Thomas began his career in the Malayalam film industry in 2014 as the scriptwriter of the film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana, starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim. His directorial debut movie was 2015's Aadu, starring Jayasurya, Vijay Babu and Sunny Wayne.[3]
