Microscope Gallery

Microscope Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located at 1329 Willoughby Avenue in Brooklyn, NY 11237. It was founded by artists and curators Elle Burchill and Andrea Monti and opened in September 2010. The gallery specializes in showing time-based works, particularly film and performance art. Sound, digital, photographic, sculpture, installation, painting and mixed media works have also been shown at Microscope.[1]

Some of the artists whose work has been shown at Microscope include Anthology Film Archives founder Jonas Mekas, Fluxus founding member George Maciunas, Nick Zedd, Michael Snow, Barbara Hammer, Amos Poe, Ken Jacobs, Bradley Eros, Su Friedrich, James Fotopoulos, Peggy Ahwesh, Takahiko Iimura, Zach Nader, Ben Coonley, Lary 7, Marni Kotak (who gave birth to a child in the gallery), and others.[2][3][4][5][6]
