Microlipophrys caboverdensis[1] is a species of combtooth blenny found in the eastern central Atlantic ocean, around Cape Verde.[1] This species grows to a length of 4 centimetres (1.6 in) TL.[2][1] The species were named and described by Peter Wirtz and Hans Bath in 1989.

Its Portuguese name is "mané-cabeça" and in Capeverdean Creole as "mané kabesa" in ALUPEK (Badiu) and "mané-cabeça" in São Vicente Creole, it is also used for Parablennius salensis (Sal blenny).

Description

The species are also endemic.[3]

It is an oviparous species where it deposit eggs glued with filamentous adhesive on the rocks from which they emerge plankton larvae.[4]

Distribution

The species are distributed in an area of an increasing growth and contamination. They are founded in shallow waters and in rocky areas.
