Michael Pitts (born December 31, 1955) is an American politician. He is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 14th District, serving since 2003. He is a member of the Republican party.[1]
In the aftermath of the mass shooting in Charleston in 2015, Pitts said he would not vote to remove the Confederate battle flag from the grounds of the state house.[2]
Pitts proposed dozens of amendments to the bill to remove the flag in an attempt to slow or stop the bill.[3]
