Archbishop Michael August Blume[1][2][3][4][5][6] (born in South Bend, Indiana on August 30, 1946) is a member of the Society of the Divine Word, Titular Archbishop of Alexanum, and current Apostolic Nuncio to Hungary.[7][8]

Religious Life

He was ordained a priest on December 23, 1972 by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Robert Crowley in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend in Indiana.

On August 24, 2005, he was appointed Titular Archbishop of Alexanum. He was consecrated a bishop on September 30, 2005 by Angelo Sodano, then the Vatican secretary of state.[9][10]

He has served as the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda since February 2013. He had previously served as Apostolic Nuncio to Benin and Togo.[11] He had also worked with the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerants.[12]
